When you're thinking about your skincare routine, honey might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But if you want an easy and natural way to get that glow, just look into your pantry. Honey has been a go-to for beautiful skin for ages: even Cleopatra used a mix of milk and honey in her baths, and the ancient Greeks slapped on honey for treating burns.

Packed with antioxidants, enzymes, and all-natural goodness, honey works its magic from the inside out. It's like a spa day for your skin, nourishing and revitalizing it like never before.

1.    Honey, A Gentle Cleanser

Honey is a gentle and effective natural cleanser for all skin types, including sensitive. The enzymes in honey work as a gentle exfoliator, helping to remove dead skin cells, which leaves your complexion looking clear, smooth and radiant. It can also work as a clarifying agent to cleanse pores, reducing the appearance of blackheads. Over time, honey crystals form and serve as a gentle exfoliating agent. Unlike some store-bought scrubs with plastic beads, these crystals are not just skin-friendly but also eco-friendly.

Honey has natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and is very soothing when applied topically. It nourishes irritated and compromised skin, reducing inflammation and support a clear, calm and bright complexion. 4. The Ultimate All -Natural Skin Moisturiser

Honey is a gentle hydrating ingredient you can add to just about anything, including your face mask. It's a natural humectant, a moisture magnet, which is a fancy way of saying it keeps your skin hydrated and happy. Plus it is packed glucose and fructose, natural sugars that act as moisture-locking superheroes. If you’re feeling luxurious and want to treat yourself, try adding it to a bath for head-to-toe glowing skin.

Regular use of a honey mask will give your skin that natural glow. The impressive antioxidant activity in honey is a skin barrier’s best friend. Research shows that antioxidants play a role in supporting a healthy skin appearance.  DIY Honey Recipes

Now it’s your turn to treat yourself to the skin-loving goodness of honey. In order to get the best results from your honey, I have outlined my favourite recipes below.

Important: Before using honey on your skin, even if you have never had a reaction to it, you should always do a test patch first. Please opt for wooden spoons and never use metal when handling honey as it can alter the composition of the honey.

  • Honey Face Wash

Is your face wash leaving your skin feeling all tight and annoyed? Give the honey face wash a try. To cleanse the face, simply apply honey to damp skin and massage in a circular motion for 1-2 minutes, rinsing with warm water to remove. If you want to remove makeup or sunscreen, try mixing it an oil such as jojoba or argan, creating a potent oil-cleanser. Can be used daily.

  • Honey Blemish Spot Treatment

Got some pesky pimples or pores that just won't cooperate? Honey's got your back as a natural blemish spot treatment. Apply directly to the blemish and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Gently rinse with cool water.

  •  Honey Face Mask

The best way to reap the skin benefits of honey is to use it as a face mask- my all-time favourite! Moisten your face slightly with water, Put a dime size amount of honey onto your fingers and mix it together with the fingers of the other hand. Gently apply the honey on your face while avoiding the eye area. Repeat the process until you have applied it to your whole face Leave it on for 10-20 minutes and then rinse it off with water, ideally in the shower for ease of clean up.
